Trace Axtell
Trace loves the Earth and it’s systems!
Fascinated by wildlife at an early age growing up on the western slope of Colorado, he turned his attention to ecology and studied at Colorado Mesa University in GJ, receiving a degree in Biology focused on Ecology and evolution. After traveling to South America and visiting a special biodynamic farm, He realized the role that agriculture played in ecosystems as well as cultural narratives and practices.
Since then he has devoted his time and study to agriculture, both trying to understand the conventional tactics as well as looking for alternatives. This also led to a path of watershed awareness and restoration of course. You can’t grow food without water!
While traveling the west coast, he engaged with a lovely farm in Northern California that introduced him to permaculture and regenerative farming practices. He spent 2 growing seasons there developing these practices.
Since then he has returned to the westernslope and lived in the NorthFork valley learning everything he can about water, land and livestock while also applying survey and equipment operation skills picked up from his father. Finally he is also studying to become a Holistic Management practitioner.
Alongside Marta, his business partner he is now prepared to make the offering of Integral pathways to the valley.
